GOONDIWINDI has some of the best inland fishing and camping areas in inland Queensland, according to Economic Development Officer, David McMahon.

"We have some excellent spots in and around Goondiwindi where visitors can spend a few days trying to catch an infamous Murray cod or yellowbelly. Camping and fishing spots include Bengalla, Lees and Yellowbank Reserves, as well as Kurrumbul Homestead.

“Kurrumbul Homestead, for example, has 7km of river frontage,” David said. “With that much space you can either choose to camp with friends or get out by yourself.

"With all the long weekends and public holidays in the first half of the year, why not plan a trip to Goondiwindi?"
