2010 DART CUP READY TO ROLL
  |  First Published: April 2010

Yes, it’s on again! The Dart Cup Yamaha Fishing Classic will be held this year on 11-13 June 2010.

After the fantastic success of last year’s tournament, and with this season’s rising water levels, the 2010 Dart Cup is getting everyone geared up, including the local Dartmouth Alpine Anglers Club and major sponsors Border Marine Centre, Makocraft for the boat package and of course Yamaha.

The Dart Cup

The Dart Cup is a friendly fishing competition held on Lake Dartmouth, the regulating dam below Dartmouth Dam and the Mitta River all the way to the Mitta Mitta Bridge on Dartmouth Road.

Entry is only $45 if you pre-register, which will also place you in the draw for the amazing electric motor package, or $50 if you register on the day.

Junior’s pay only $15 for registration into the Junior competitions. Juniors are also most welcome to enter the Open competition, however they must pay the full price and are then ineligible to enter the Junior competition.

There are a massive number of prizes to be won, including trophies, cash and prize draws for Best Brown Trout, Best Rainbow Trout, Best European Carp, the famous Club/Team Championship, Junior Lucky Fish Draw, The Sponsors Lotto (where you don’t even have to catch a fish to win) and, not forgetting the big one, The Open Lucky Fish Draw – where one lucky angler can win the Major Prize of a Makocraft 390 Estuary Tournament Tracker Boat, Yamaha 25hp Electric Start Motor and a Makocraft trailer. This package is valued at well over $12,000.

The Open Lucky Fish Draw

Each day anglers can weigh in a legal trout for entry to the Open Fish Draw, which gives them the opportunity to win the major prize. The draw will be conducted on Sunday night at the presentation evening held at the Dartmouth Pub, and if you’re the lucky entrant drawn out you will leave Dartmouth with a brand new boat, motor and trailer. It couldn’t get any easier!

The Club/Team Championship is always a favourite with groups. Entry into the Championship costs $50 per team with the prize being a trophy and cash. The winning team is based on the combined weight of the team’s best ten trout for the weekend.

With in excess of 500 entrants expected at this year’s Dart Cup Yamaha Fishing Classic 2010, it is sure to be the biggest and best yet!
