Mercury Verado and Mariner OptiMax Power 2005 AFC Series!

Mercury and Mariner outboards are again major sponsors of the latest Australian Fishing Championship Outdoor Series featuring Team Mercury (David Green and Kris Hickson) and Team Berkley (Adam Royter and Harry Watson).

The Mercury Marine brands, Mercury Verado, Mariner OptiMax and MotorGuide Digital have all combined to fit out the ultimate fishing machines for these competitive anglers.

Screening from Sunday 27th November, Channel 10 will televise this year’s AFC Outdoor Series over 9 weeks. The competition consists of 8 rounds, 4 bass and 4 bream and is currently underway in prime fishing spots all around Australia.

Both teams are competing in Stratos 285 Pro XL boats; Team Mercury fitted with a 150hp Mercury Verado Supercharged 4-stroke, Team Berkley with a 150hp Mariner OptiMax. Team Mercury has the first Supercharged 4-cylinder short shaft Verado engine fitted to a tournament boat in Australia.

MotorGuide Digital is also a major series sponsor, making navigating through the shallows easier, all four boats in the competition are fitted with the very latest in electric motors; the MotorGuide Digital PTSv models with digital remote controls and GPS tracking that can follow a specific channel or shoreline with the touch of a button.

The awesome performance and fuel efficiency of the Mercury Verado and OptiMax engines will get the Mercury and Berkley Teams to the fish faster with their speedy out of the hole acceleration and is sure to guarantee a close competition, sure to be exciting with both boats powering along at up to 100km/ph.
