Mako Craft Family Bass Round 3
  |  First Published: August 2005

A small but keen fleet of anglers took to the water for the third round of the Mako Craft Family Bass Challenge on July 9 and 10.

In the first session the field measured in 45 fish, and this rose to 75 fish in the second session. The weather conditions made things a bit tougher on Sunday morning, with a big blow that came through in the early hours, but anglers still managed to bring in 52 fish in the last session.

Leading the field in the Senior division was regular basser David Green from Toowoomba, and the title of Biggest Bass in the Senior division was taken out by Mike Connolly. The Junior division was taken out by Casey Blundell, who beat a fast finishing and Big Bass winner Lauren Sargent to the winner’s podium. In the Sub-Junior division, Hayley Dakin headed up the field and doubled up her win with a great 475mm bass to take out the Big Bass in the division.

With one round to go, the title in each division is still up for grabs. If you want to take part in the next and last round of the Mako Craft Family Bass Challenge held on September 17 and 18, contact the Tournament Director on 0410 646 609. – MCFBC
