TRAILER specialist Vehicle Components has exclusive rights to the hi-tech Supa-Alloy 5 (SA5) plating system for use in trailer parts.

The SA5 process first won acceptance from auto manufacturers for components subject to severe corrosive conditions. Use progressed to the building industry for protection of threaded rods. SA5 is acknowledged to be one of the best anti-corrosion processes currently on the market. The process is particularly suitable where hot dip galvanising may distort, damage or clog up machined features.

“We can now offer finished axles completely plated in Supa-Alloy 5,” Vehicle Component’s Chris Goddard said. “This new process protects weld rings, seal surfaces, wiring tubes and mounts which cannot be satisfactorily accomplished with galvanising.”

Vehicle Components uses SA5 for all electroplated products including AT35 Coupling and Marinised Brake backing plates. The plating system suitable for brake drums, disc brakes, hubs, callipers, standard 50mm quick-release couplings, ring couplings and virtually anything else you can think of can be supplied very economically in SA5.
