Sunshine Coast Marine Centre
  |  First Published: April 2006

Paul and Darren Kelly, both with years experience in boats and boat sales, bought Coloundra City Power Boats a couple of years ago and have turned it into a one stop boating yard called Sunshine Coast Marine Centre.

Being a massive Quintrex dealers, the boys have a huge stock of introduction to boating tinnies right through to tournament ready boats and up to big family cruisers and offshore rigs for the big fish chaser. They also carry a range of Bayliner boats for those who prefer to step into a fibreglass rig.

With the new expanded premises you can get all you boating needs before you leave. From Club Marine Insurance and Mercury finance to taking the tests on your boat or jet ski licence with Australian Boating College, this is the only place in Queensland where you can do your testing, training and buying in the one spot.

Mercury Australia has announced Sunshine Coast Marine Centre is their number one dealer so you can rest assured the team know their engines. Add to this that in the yard there is a boat trimmer who can customise your covers and bimini tops on site making it easy for you to get what you want.

The old yard was only 2000 sq m and the expansion has taken the space up to a massive 4000 sq m.

Testing the rig before you buy is always a big part of the buying process these days and with the premises so close to the water buyers can get into their new rig and check out if it really is everything they want.

Packages are built from the ground up and you can fully customise the package right down to boat sticker colour all while the boat is still in the yard. This is real hands-on purchasing and allows buyers to have a say in what they get from the start, not just be lumped with what they’re given.

If that’s not enough to get you there to check it out, how about the opportunity to check over 90 boats in the one place. It’s like a mini boat show every day of the week. Add to this a huge chandlery display with life jackets, electric motors, oils, sounders, watersports gear and basic boat chandlery and it’s easy to see you should make the trip to Caloundra to check it out.

The new premises for Sunshine Coast Marine Centre are located at 8 Baldwin St Caloundra, so drop in or call them on (07) 5491 1944 for more information. – Travis Davies
