BLA has introduced a range of kayaking accessories to make your time with your kayak more enjoyable and safe.

The first products recently released are split foam blocks. These blocks are designed to safely store your kayak at home up off the ground or act as ground baffles when you are unloading your kayak from your roof racks. But the handy design of these blocks means you can also attach them easily to most roof racks and have a padded seat for your kayak to rest on while in transit. Priced at around $45 each, these foam blocks are a very handy accessory.

Visibility when kayaking is paramount and these two products have you covered, day and night. Sold separately, you have the choice of a high visibility flag for day use ($52.50 with flag and pole) or a battery operated 360 degree white navigation light ($123) for the night. Both the light and flag are mounted on a threaded pole that is designed to screw directly onto most Ocean Kayaks or a threaded mount socket base kit can be purchased ($31.50) to adapt these products to most kayaks.

For anglers in Kayaks rod holders are vital. This rod holder is a fully adjustable rod holder with spring loaded tension knob and is suited to baitcaster and spinning reel set-ups. The base, supplied with stainless steel mount bolts, can be mounted vertically or horizontally and allows the rod to rotate through a full 360 degree arc.

Specifically designed for use on kayaks, the kayaker compass is supplied with screw on base plate enabling twist on/off application. Alternately the optional tie down mount kit (as shown) has four bungee straps to secure the compass to kayak deck lines. If you paddle offshore and don’t have a GPS mounted on your craft, then this little accessory could be the only thing that gets you home.

The C-Tug Trolley is a lightweight kayak, canoe and general use trolley for static loads of up to 120kg. It can be assembled and disassembled in under one minute and is supplied with a 2.4 metre webbing strap complete with cam-lock buckle. Designed to be stowed in the forward compartment on most of BLA’s models whilst paddling the C-Tug will sell for around $199.
