At the recent Club BRP event in Montreal, Canada - 4000 dealers, press and employees travelled from across the globe to get a real experience of the feeling of ‘Yellow Blood’; a dedication to the products and the experience they deliver - excitement, enjoyment, thrill and adrenalin at the turn of a key. Truth be told, the ride experience these products deliver is so great you won’t want to climb off until your body can’t take anymore.
As part of the 4 day extravaganza every attendee enjoyed a tour through The Design and Innovation Centre in Valcourt Quebec. The experience was nothing short of mind blowing, and really cemented the motto the company stands by “Design; Our History, our success and our future”.
Backing up the dedication to design and innovation is the companies numerous Design Awards wins for products such as the Can-Am Spyder RT and the Sea-Doo 210 Challenger SE, GTX and RX platforms over the last two years.
Employed at the centre is a permanent elite team of graphic artists, sculptures, engineers, tech gurus and researchers all working to ensure that the products under the BRP Ultimate Playground banner deliver a truly memorable experience for us the customers.

At this years Club BRP I was fortunate to join over 100 journalists from all walks of the outdoor life on a never forget experience. A day filled with Sea-Doo boat tests, a bit of cruising on American style pontoon boats powered by the Evinrude E-Tec and skimming Sea-Doos across the St. Lawrence river with the picturesque Island city and its famous bridges as a back drop. I also tested the new addition to the Can-Am SSV line-up, the Commander 1000 LTD, an off-road 4 wheel vehicle which allows you and a friend and all your gear to go almost anywhere.
Impressively BRP have also developed a Hybrid SSV vehicle, which will have great applications for farmers, park rangers and Surf Life Saving Australia (proudly sponsored by BRP)
From the inception of its existence up until 1994, Bombardier as it was known had two core product lines in the power sports arena, namely Ski-Doo and Sea-Doo. Existing in a changing landscape they identified the need to innovate and grow in order to stay abreast of the competition and so the process began.
In 1995 the release of the first Sea-Doo boat signalled the beginning of the evolution of the BRP playground. In 2001 the release of the Evinrude E-Tec saw the reinvention of 2-stroke outboard technology and further confirmed the company’s dedication to innovation. As momentum grew so did the playground and in 2007 the revolutionary Spyder Roadster was released onto roads the world over and BRP has never looked back.
In 2009 the addition of the SSV Commander to the Can-AM ATV product line saw the company take even more market share. This year a larger more powerful model of the SSV was launched, the Commander 1000 LTD, and in keeping with the brand identity a host of improvements were incorporated into the suspension and handling capabilities. Other additions are A WARN winch, Garmin GPS, Air-Control Fox Racing Shox, plus a host cosmetic options to allow you to customize your off-road ride so it looks as good as it drives. This is the perfect adventure machine built for two passengers to explore the remote wilderness with the ability to carry equipment for whatever your outdoor obsession may be.
There were also six new models of ATVs released and the introduction of ‘TRI-MODE DPS’; an assistance system featuring three ride modes allowing riders to select the desired amount of steering and assist for the terrain and conditions.
These products are designed for use in hard going terrain making them perfect for the mountains, gorge country, or racing along dusty outback tracks, so there is no limit to the search for fish rich waters; wherever you go these extreme machines will leave you white knuckled and grinning from ear to ear.
For PWC enthusiasts the name Sea-Doo is synonymous with excellent products. I’m a novice but the watercrafts we got to take out on the water were exceptional; stand by for exciting new launches to add to the large range of Sea-Doo crafts early in 2012.

Unfortunately for us boat owners we have to wait just a little while longer for the next evolution of Evinrude E-Tec outboards; I did push the execs to give me an update on what we can expect. All they promised was that very soon the next generation of these reliable, fuel efficient, powerful outboards would be ready to be bolted onto great boats around the world.
