On a recent fishing trip up along the inside of Fraser Island we made the unfortunate discovery of two barramundi frames left in the vicinity of Elbow Point.
It is bewildering just what drives these morons to take and kill these fish in the closed season, to take one fish is bad enough but to indiscriminately kill another fish is beyond belief.
It is well publicised both in print and radio where and when the barramundi closed season is in Queensland and this act is just sheer arrogance, whether by pros or amateurs there is no excuse. The sad sight of these decaying frames laying in the sand left for the Dingoes was a sickening sight.
The loss of these potential spawning fish is a major loss to our system and to those anglers who do care.
If you see or here of anybody carrying out acts such as this report it! If this sort of behaviour is allowed to continue we will all pay for it in the end, the Great Sandy Marine Park will become out of bounds to all of us, it could happen! – Alan BallardReads: 1843
