QFM heads north
  |  First Published: November 2003

FISHING MONTHLY Group has accepted the challenge, and this year will enter a corporate team in the Tinaroo Barra Bash, an annual event held at the beautiful Lake Tinaroo in the Atherton Tablelands. This year the family competition will run from November 7-9, 2003, and is again well supported by generous sponsors who provide fantastic prizes.

The Fishing Monthly campaign will be based at the Lakeside Terraces, a fantastic barramundi spotting location and competition tactics planning point. The Fishing Monthly team will be: Kevin WARD, QFM Advertising consultant; Tony ZANN, NSWFM Editor; Trent BUTLER, QFM Advertising consultant; and Garry SMITH, QFM Field Editor.

“As a group we have the same goal – to catch a barra and have a good time,” said team captain Kevin Ward. “We plan to learn and enjoy the wonderful northern hospitality and experience some of the country’s best barra fishing.

“The competitive spirit of the Bash from previous years, we are told, has always been high, especially in the corporate section,” said Ward. “We wish the other teams all the best for next year [the boys reckon they’re a fair chance this year, but we know the truth – Ed] and hope they enjoy the peace and serenity of the Lake this year while they watch us catch barra after barra.”

The weigh-in for the Tinaroo Barra Bash will be held on Sunday 9 November at 12pm and should not be missed by any interested anglers or spectators. Contact Glenda Johnson on 0401 664 003 for more information. – QFM
