THE MAKE A Wish Flathead Challenge 2004 is beginning to look quite exciting for the Lure and Fly Anglers Club Sunshine Coast and the beneficiaries, the local committee of Make A Wish Foundation.
With a prize list with a value in excess of $11,000 it is enough to wet the appetite of any angler.
For an entry fee of $80 for a Senior and $60 for a Junior (under 16) every entrant will receive a bag of goodies valued in excess of $40, containing lures from top manufacturers and a selection of other products.
Some of the prizes on offer include:
1 Winning Team — Large ice boxes from evaKool; and Tropical valued approx $350 each;
2 Champion Angler – ABU rod, reel and line valued approx $250;
3 Runner up – Fishing rod valued around $150;
4 Junior Champion — ABU outfit valued around $250;
5 Largest Flathead — ABU outfit valued around $250;
6 Mystery Fish – Shimano sport bag valued around $40;
7 Unluckiest Angler — a carton of beer; and
8 Early Entry Prize – Ice box valued around $350.
The Major Prize, which will be awarded in a lucky draw including all entrant’s names, is a 15’6” Fish‘n’Canoe fitted out with a 30lb Minn Kota and Piranha sounder, rod holders, sealed storage, lifejackets, anchor and sealed battery and is ready to hit the water. Valued around $ 2500, it’s a great lucky draw prize.
Each entrant has the chance of winning from the 30 or more lucky draws of sponsored prizes, like a family pass to Australia Zoo or Underwater World valued at over $50 and many others valued at $30 or more, which begin after the sign-on and briefing at 6.30pm on Friday evening.
With the support and approval of the Caloundra City Council the event will be staged from Jensen Park, adjacent to the Bell’s Creek boat ramp at Caloundra.
The popular Irish Band TIS will play on Friday evening.
