EVER wanted to know the secrets of the best bass and bream anglers around? Well, here’s your chance to sit in their boats and witness first-hand exactly what they do and why they do it.

During October ABT’s National BREAM Grand Final and BASS Pro Grand Final will be held to decide Australia’s best tournament breamer and basser. Each Grand Final competitor is paired with a non-fishing observer, and this is your chance to be that observer and get a free lesson from the best in the business.

Quintrex National BREAM Grand Final

The Quintrex National BREAM Grand Final will be held at Batemans Bay in southern NSW, with anglers fishing the waters of the Clyde River. The event runs for three days, Friday October 3, Saturday October 4 and the final five shootout on Sunday October 5, when the Quintrex National BREAM Grand Champion will be announced. With up to 32 competitors from Victoria, NSW, Queensland and WA fishing the tournament, it will be an event not to be missed, bringing together some of the best brains in the business in one place at the one time.

Observers can register for any of the three days of competition, however, it is worth remembering that only five observers are needed for the final day, so you need to get in early to be a Day 3 observer.

The tournament briefing will be held at the Coachhouse Marina Resort at 8:30pm on Thursday night. All observers are invited to attend the briefing to meet their boaters for the tournament and to mingle with the Pros. The Coachhouse Marina Resort is located at 49 Beach Rd, Batemans Bay and can be contacted on (02) 4472 4392.

Session times for the event are:

Friday Oct 37am – 2pm32 observers

Saturday Oct 47am – 2pm32 observers

Sunday Oct 57am – 2pm5 observers

Yamaha BASS Pro Grand Final

This year the Yamaha BASS Pro Grand Final will be held at Bjelke-Petersen Dam, northwest of Brisbane. This two-day event will be staged on Saturday October 18 and Sunday October 19, with up to 34 of the country’s best bassers mixing up in Bjelke’s productive waters.

The BASS Pro Grand Final is a three-session event, giving observers plenty of scope to choose when they want to observe and giving them an opportunity to sit in with three different BASS Pros.

The tournament briefing will be held at Yallakool at 8:30pm on Friday night. All observers are invited to attend the briefing to meet their boaters for the tournament.

Session times for the event are:

Saturday Oct 186am – 11am34 observers

Saturday Oct 181am – 6pm34 observers

Sunday Oct 196am – 11am34 observers

(Times may vary according to dawn/dusk timing)
