THE KINGAROY Sportfishing Club’s annual Boondooma Bash was held on the first weekend in June with some excellent fish caught and plenty of fun had by the 25 keen competitors.
Based at the Lakeside Campground at Boondooma, each of the six clubs fished hard to secure the title of Champion Club. Local hosts Kingaroy Sportfishing Club took out the title with 1305.3 points, with Glen Radunz taking the honours for the highest point scoring male and Donna Bowman finishing as the highest point scoring female. Local guide Matthew Mott featured heavily, taking the Longest Caught and Released Fish and Longest Caught and Released Fish lure or fly casting with a 530mm Australian bass. He also measured in the most metres for introduced species.
During the competition 165 fish were measured and the average fish length came in at 347mm. The full results are listed in the table below. – KSFC
