THE FIFTH annual Shane Stewart Memorial Fishing Competition will be held at Caloundra over the June 18-20 weekend, hosted by Moffat Beach Deep Sea Fishing Club. This event is open to the public, and includes categories for deep sea and estuary with plenty of great prizes up for grabs.

Competitors will be vying for cash and prizes in nine categories which include snapper, sweetlip, parrot, pelagic, pearl perch, flathead, bream, whiting and tailor. There will also be heaps of lucky draw prizes, mystery weights, and a casting comp for all anglers who enter.

Dolphin Marine and Yamaha have backed the comp as major sponsors by donating a Stacer tinny and Yamaha outboard as the major prize draw, with Tim Phillips from IC Fish Electronics organizing many electronic items for random giveaways.

The venue is the Apex Park Golden Beach (next to Caloundra Power Boat Club), and the competition will start at 4pm on Friday June 18. Entries will be taken at comp site from 3pm or can be obtained from Dolphin Marine, IC Fish Electronics (located in the Dolphin Marine Centre), and at all leading bait and tackle shops on the Sunshine Coast. You can also enter by calling the MBDSFC direct on 0408 732 889.
