Stessl Family Bass Challenge, Somerset Dam

FIRST time Stessl competitor Josh Batterson travelled all the way from NSW totake out Round Three of the Stessl Series, using spinnerbaits and plastic techniques.

Both Josh and his fishing partner Greg Walton fished spinnerbaits in the timber for most of their fish, and caught the rest on the flats using deep fly and Sliders. In the end Josh secured a 57mm advantage over Greg to win the round and take home a 3.4m Stessl boat.

Third placed competitor Tony Perkins landed all his fish on AusSpin spinnerbaits, edging out Mark Pertot (4th), Les Smith (5th) and Darryl Dimmick (6th). In the junior category, Lauren Sargent had a blinder fishing the flats with Storm 2” Rattle Grubs in pumpkin seed colour.
