WA and Vic BREAM Grand Final teams decided
  |  First Published: May 2003

THE VICTORIAN and Western Australian AOY rounds of the Quintrex National BREAM Series have been run and won, and the grand final teams of the two states have been announced. This leaves only the New South Wales and Queensland teams to be decided for the 32-angler Grand Final field to compete for a $25,000 Quintrex, Mercury and Special Trailers package fitted out by Caloundra City Power Boats.

Ira Fehlberg, coordinator of the WA leg of the national series, said the team was pumped and ready.

“The guys are really keen to show the eastern staters what we’ve got,” Ira said. “With Geoff heading up the team [Geoff was the only WA representative at last year’s national grand final] we are confident of a great showing.”

The Victorian team is a good mix of local Victorians and some quality NSW south coast anglers, headed up by the popular Kev Gleed.

“I reckon it’s awesome to be in the side,” Kev said, “and I think the Victorian team will be hard to beat if the Grand Final is held on the southern coast of NSW.”

The battle for the remaining 16 places will be fierce, with one leg of the NSW rounds to run at Forster on May 3 and 4, and the two Queensland rounds to run at the Gold Coast on June 7 and 8 and at Bundaberg on August 2 and 3.
