The Surat Family Secret Weight Fishing Competition will be held over the weekend of June 10 and 11, 2005 and will draw families and fishers from all over Queensland.

Nominations commence at 10am Saturday morning and Sunday morning, with anglers able to compete in a many sections. The main catch and release section will run over Saturday and Sunday with marshals on the water every three hours from 10am until dark on Saturday and 8am till 12pm on Sunday. All fish registered for this section must be viewed and released by the marshals. The nomination fee will be $15 for seniors and $5 for juniors.

There are continuous weigh-in times between 4pm and 8pm on Saturday and 9am until 2pm on Sunday.

The major prize will be a 3.6m Quintrex punt supplied by Waterskiers Warehouse, which includes a Minn Kota Endura 30 Transom Mount Electric Motor from Bob Littler Agencies. There are also prizes for just nominating.

Other entertainment will be provided by Steve James and the bar will be open until midnight. There’ll also be weekend raffles, hot meals and BBQs available.
