TOYOTA has re-powered the HiLux 4x4 petrol range with a new Quad Cam V6 engine.
The new HiLux Quad Cam V6 is the first HiLux available with automatic transmission. The 3.4-litre Quad Cam Multi-valve V6 engine has 16kW more power and 56Nm more torque than its predecessor, delivering 124kW of power at 4600rpm and 291Nm of torque at 3600rpm. The re-powered HiLux petrol is 6% quicker in 0-100km/h acceleration, and meets passenger-car emission levels.
The Quad Cam V6 is matched to a new five-speed manual transmission or a new electronically-controlled four-speed overdrive automatic. There are seven Quad Cam V6 petrol models, with the choice of two transmissions, three cabins, two body styles (Pickup or Cab Chassis) and two equipment grade levels. Specification upgrades also include improved rear suspension for 4x4 Double Cab models, and significantly higher equipment levels for the 4x4 Double Cab SR5 upgrade.
With the addition of the new 4x4 Turbo-diesel Double Cab Cab/Chassis, there are now 15 4x4 models in the range. The Quad Cam 24-valve HiLux single cab pickup has a RRP of $29,950 (excludes dealer delivery and on-road costs). – Toyota.Reads: 834
