Boondooma Gears Up For 13th Yellowbelly Comp

THE BOONDOOMA Yellowbelly Fishing Competition, to be held at Boondooma Dam (near Proston) on February 8-9, will feature a Junior Section with winner and runner-up prizes donated by Burnett Off Road and Great Outdoors Centre. Junior anglers will also compete for trophies donated by the Hanwood Fish Farm for the heaviest golden perch and bass.

All competitors are eligible for numerous lucky draws, including a King Size Single Swag, Evakool Ice Box, Humminbird Sounder and camping equipment. $100 prize money, sponsored by Wondai Plumbing & Hardware, will again be offered for the most tilapia caught.

In the adult section, prize money and runner-up prizes donated by Allround Angler will be awarded at each weigh-in for the heaviest golden perch, bass, silver perch, jew and spangled perch.

There will be two weigh-in periods on Saturday and Sunday, and all adult competitors who weigh in fish during the competition will qualify for major prize money.

The winner of the Pioneer Permanent Building Society Heaviest Australian Bass will receive prize money and a trophy valued at $200. The winner of the Heaviest Golden Perch will receive a Humminbird Sounder donated by Buccaneers.
