Merv Light fished a run-in tide up around Lake Coringal recently and caught a superb bag of bream, ranging between 1 and 2kg. It was the best bag he’d ever caught. He was fishing with a running sinker and using black crab for bait.
Greame Steed and Jack Robinson followed suit with crab and caught a good bag of bream, fishing the lake at night.
Dick Kleinitz and son Shaun also fished in the lake area and caught a mixed bag of luderick and mullet on sandworm. The luderick were up around 1kg and they were good size mullet.
Fishing near the Little Snowy, Peg Joiner, Keith Light, Colin Weir and many others have been bagging out on mullet using sandworm. Bert Norton and his granddaughter Stephanie have also been in on the act with some huge specimens.
Just to show that we have all types of fishing down our way, young Ben Webb bagged a 60cm brown trout on a lure in the Brodribb River above the lake on trout opening.
Offshore of Cape Conran is still firing with big catches of flathead and gummy shark. Chris Davis and Roy Herbert bagged out on flathead and boated a very good gummy. All of their fish were caught on bluebait.
Peter Wilcok, with a crew of Ian and Marty Greaves, recently fished in 140ft and caught a good bag of flathead on bluebait.
The surf beaches from Coringal to the Yeerung are all producing plenty of salmon on bluebait, surf poppers and Lazer lures.
