Hawkesbury Classic

THE 12TH Annual Hawkesbury Classic is shaping up to be huge and promises to be the best Hawkesbury Classic yet!

The Hawkesbury Classic was started 13 years ago to raise much-needed funds for some local Hawkesbury charities by Pitt Town Fishing Club (PTFC). It has grown to become the biggest fishing competition in NSW in terms of entry numbers, and is hailed as the biggest dedicated estuary fishing comp in the Southern Hemisphere, with hundreds of boats and up to 800 entrants. The competition is growing so big there has to be a cut-off point in entries now, so if you’re interested in entering, grab an entry form and get it in as soon as possible when they hit the tackle stores at the end of September.

Along with the prestige that comes with winning the Hawkesbury Classic, there’s the chance to win great prizes like two boat and motor packages, including registration, galvanised trailer, and safety gear supplied by major sponsor TR Marine at Mulgrave. Great trophies, rod and reel packages, hand-held GPS units and hundreds of dollars in Vouchers to popular tackle shops will also be available for competitors.

TR Marine has a massive range of boats and accessories and has been very generous in helping us to raise much-needed funds for local charities and 'Camp Qualities' kids with cancer. Thanks go to Ian and Susan Tricker and their fantastic staff for making this Classic one to remember and one to be a part of.

Pitt Town Fishing Club has raised well over $180,000 and is sure to push over the $200,000 mark this year – not bad for a small fishing club.

The Hawkesbury Classic takes nine months of preparation from dedicated club members who all do it voluntarily in the name of charity.

This year the entry fee has been kept to just $20. This also puts you in the running to win a boat and motor package, with only those people who enter and present themselves on the day at the weigh-in eligible to win the boat. With chances like that, grab an entry and shoot it off!

The atmosphere at the Hawkesbury Classic weigh-in is carnival-like, with a huge auction on the day, heaps of prizes and giveaways, plenty of cold drinks, BBQ and entertainment.

So why not come and see why Pitt Towns Original Hawkesbury Classic is the biggest, the friendliest, and the best comp to be part of, and help raise a dollar for charity along the way? - Brett 'Changa' Chain

The winning smiles say it all and they’re not bad fish either.
