The Brisbane International Boat Show is 48 this year and is stronger than ever.

The show, which will be held between 27-31 August at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, has grown from a show featuring local boat retailers to Australia’s best-designed-undercover boat show, incorporating small and large vessels, marine products and accessories from around the world plus a marine careers showcase, live fishing tournament, interactive fishing demonstrations and much more.

Event Manager Jason Plant said this year’s show would be a celebration of what the marine industry has to offer. “From the must have to the innovative, the show will be both highly interactive and informative, with all the latest boats, boating accessories and fishing equipment,” he said.

The Brisbane International Boat Show will have everything you need to get on the water. Whether you are a boatie, yachtie, fisherman or adrenalin junkie, the show will have something for everyone.

If you are looking to enter the boating market or upgrade your existing boat, the vast sea of boats on display including fibreglass and plate boats will provide plenty of ideas. You will have the opportunity to speak to the experts who are on hand to help identify your individual needs and recommend the best fit in their range to suit your requirements. It is the ideal place to go as your search for the perfect boat can be carried out under the one roof.

If you are keen on fishing and want to improve your skills, a visit to the Fishing Expo feature at the show is a must. With demonstrations from the experts on marine activities including what tackle or bait to use, where to fish and insider tips, the Fishing Expo is definitely the place to be for avid fishing fans.

A special component of the Fishing Expo is the live weigh-in by teams competing in the Bream Tournament. Teams compete for the biggest overall catch and the largest fish catch with spectators at the Fishing Expo able to see first hand the teams and their catch up close. Fishing demonstrations and the live weigh-in take place every day of the five-day event.

If it is adrenaline activity you are seeking, the interactive marine skill challenges scattered throughout the show are not to be missed. These challenges will test the experienced and the amateur, so be sure to have a go. The huge display of wakeboards, jet skis and other personal watercraft will ensure the adventurer has something to choose from.
