Time flies. It seems like yesterday that Bruce Cunningham announced he was moving into his new premises at Snook St, Clontarf. During the construction process, it seemed like a massive yard that would easily hold all of his new and used stock from his much smaller digs at Margate.
Following the success of the business at the new location, Cunningham’s started bursting at the seams again, forcing Bruce to acquire neighbouring properties to house his service areas and burgeoning marine chandlery departments.
An original 6,000 square metres of retail space is now 8,500 square metres, and all of it is full of bits and pieces that will interest boaters, anglers and anyone interested in the marine industry.
A year down the track, a serious fisho or boatie will take a long time to browse through the yard and check out the options from their various franchises and the bargains available amongst their trade-ins.
A virtual laundry list of brands is available to cater for your preferences and a mix of imported and local boats make up the mix.
Tinnie lovers can trawl through the Trailcrafts, Ally Crafts, Brookers and the plate Xstreme boats. Ploycraft pundits have a large range to choose from and imported boat fanatics can choose between Glastron, Seaswirl, Cobalt and Striper. Tournament guys, however, will head straight for the Stratos, the brand made popular by the exciting AFC TV tournament fishing show.
Bruce had an epiphany when considering how he should celebrate the anniversary of his new yard. Instead of a day- or weekend-long show that may exclude customers from out of town or who are simply out boating, Bruce concluded that a month-long sales celebration would be the most fitting way to give back to his customers who have helped him become the Trailcraft and Allycraft Dealer of the Year.
In fact Allycraft went further to say that Bruce and the team had done a fantastic job in the new premises over the fiurst year in what must have been a disruptive and exciting year for Bruce. In a year of change, Cunningham’s Marine still managed to win their fourth consecutive Dealer of the Year award for Ally Craft and Ally Craft wanted to publicly congratulate Bruce and the team.
Cunningham’s has used its buying power to squeeze a variety of deals out of its suppliers and Bruce is determined to pass on these goodies to you in June! The deals are outlined in the editorial below, but the best way to summarise them is to find the pave of vouchers that Cunningham’s will honour right throughout the month.
Suzuki is Cunningham’s latest outboard franchise, filling the need his customers had for a full range of four-stroke outboards. Anyone who purchases a Suzuki outboard in June will go into the draw for a Walker Bay 2.7m Air Deck boat with a 2.5hp Suzuki 4-Stroke outboard strapped on the transom. This prize is worth $4,000 RRP and is incentive enough in itself to get you out to Cunningham’s..
Entry forms are in-store, and if you are deliberating when would be the best time to re-power your rig with a Suzuki outboard, then this should help you make your mind up.
Every Saturday in June, the Mercury BBQ will be powering on. Take time out of your Saturday to come and look around and you’ll be rewarded with a treat from the barbie.
Couple that with the buy-one-get-one-free coffee offer from Elixr Coffee and the on-site coffee shop and there’s no reason not to bring the family and see which new boat they like the best.
Club Marine has offered an interesting bonus for Cunningham’s customers.
The first four boat packages sold in June will get a $200 discount off their Club Marine insurance. Couple this with Club Marine’s already low prices and your next rig mightn’t cost much at all to insure for its first year on the water. And these days a saving of $200 on your insurance premium will mean a lot more time on the water enjoying your new boat and motor package.
Boatclub is an initiative of Marine Queensland (formerly BIAQ). Boatclub gives boat owners access to a state wide member based organisation, promoting their views on matters of importance as a strong single voice.
Boatclub also offers an electronic information service providing boat owners with up to date changes in maritime legislation, existing legislation and other matters of interest including boating safety and the environment.
But best of all, members will also benefit from discounts on a wide range of goods and services.
And Boatclub membership is free for all customers who purchase a boat from Cunningham’s in June.
You don’t get to be the Trailcraft Dealer of the Year without knowing your Trailcraft boats and Cunningham’s always have an extensive range on-site and on order. This means you will be able to physically check out a Trailcraft and choose the right one for your needs.
Trailcraft boats are popular due to their rugged construction and inbuilt safety features. They’ll be more popular in June, because each Trailcraft sold at Cunningham’s this month will qualify for a $500 factory bonus. That’s $500, cash, paid back to you by the factory just for buying your Trailcraft from Cunningham’s in June. You beauty!
Brookers are one of Cunningham’s quiet achievers. They’re a strong, locally built boat that is basic enough to get even the most frugal boatie out and smiling on the water. The range has been refined over the years to provide the ideal tinnie for a host of applications.
To add the already excellent value, Brooker is offering a free rear step or ladder with every Brooker sold in June at Cunningham’s. So if you’re in the market for a locally built tinnie with a great reputation, make sure you head down to Cunningham’s in June to check out the range on offer.
To help Cunningham’s Marine celebrate their anniversary, during June Ally Craft will be offering customers the choice of a bait board or ladder on all pod models. This is an added extra that many boaties take up and is a great incentive for buyers.
But if a pod model is not what you’re after, all models over 4m will be fitted with a free rear step to make boarding a breeze. Add to this free side rails on all tinnies and Ally Craft are well worth looking at during June at Cunningham’s Marine.
“We’re amazed at how well the Trailers 2000 Box trailers have been selling,” Bruce Cunningham commented as he checked out their display in front of the chandlery store.
These trailers are a simple and strong, locally made box trailer that will take any punishment you can dish out to it.
For the First Birthday Celebrations, Trailers 2000 is offering a free jockey wheel for every trailer sold in June. Just think of all the brownie points you’ll get to spend at a later date on fishing when you spend a weekend hauling junk to the dump with one of these rippers!
Special Trailers’ Sea Link boat trailers are the trailer of choice for many of the boat brands and packages sold at Cunningham’s.
They’re galvanised, built just up the road and in June at Cunningham’s, will come with a free motor support and tie-down strap. There is nothing like the feeling of security a well built boat trailer offers you and Special Trailers have been delivering just this sort of trailer for years and Cunningham’s has wisely stuck with a brand that provides special service.
When you walk into Cunningham’s chandlery store, you’re confronted with a neat display of Queensland-designed sun shirts from Sun 2 Sea. If you buy one of these in June at Cunningham’s, you’ll get a bonus fish measuring sticker.
