Classic species in Richmond
  |  First Published: May 2007

The Richmond Fish Stocking Association Fishing Classic was held on 17-18 March. Plenty of competitors, both adults and juniors, turned out to wet a line and enjoy the great weather.

A number of different species were caught during the competition including gulf grunter, barred grunter, yellowfin perch, spangled perch and sleepy cod.

The junior anglers weighed in a total of 31 fish while the adult competitors managed to land 15. The $200 prize for the first barramundi of the weekend caught failed to go off in both the adult and junior divisions.

Thanks must go to all competitors, sponsors, members of Richmond Fish Stocking Association, Paul O’Keeffe, Noel Carrington. Les Fickling, Roy Wellings and Scott Clark.
