World Barramundi Fishing Championships

The 30th World Barramundi Fishing Championships are scheduled to be held in Burketown between April 6 and 8, 2007.

Supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service and other local community groups, the World Barramundi Championships will have over $20,000 in cash and prizes, including a boat, motor and trailer giveaway for the Lucky Nomination Draw along with 30 other nomination draw prizes.

Competitors will be competing for $3000 for the heaviest barramundi, while the second heaviest and third heaviest barramundi winners will take home $1000 and $500 respectively. Sixteen other prizes are available in categories for the open division, men’s division, women’s division and children’s division.

Held at Burketown, this will be an event not to miss for keen competition anglers, barramundi anglers and families just looking to get away for a great Easter weekend.
