60+ teams line up for Sundowner
  |  First Published: October 2007

Bigger and better than ever, the fourth annual Sundowner BREAM Classic takes place on October 27 and 28.

Since its inception in 2004 the competition has grown from strength to strength, so much so that this year it can be called a national event.

Teams from as far afield as Western Australia, the ACT and Victoria have entered along with those from Queensland and NSW. With more than 60 teams taking part, it is sure to be a well-contested and hard-fought contest.

This year a large number of father-and-son teams have entered, as well as a growing number of husband-and-wife teams, making the Classic a great family occasion.

Centre stage again will be on Port Macquarie’s beautiful Town Green.

Anglers will blast off at 6.30am and spend the next seven hours trying to catch their five best bream to present live to the weigh master at 1.30pm each day.

During the day there will be presentations and competitions for the public, with some great giveaways on offer. Steve Starling will be on hand to promote the event and do talks before each of the weigh-ins. So make sure you come along and check out the tournament and enjoy some of Australia’s top anglers showcasing their bream skills on the Hastings River.

Anyone interested in participating or after more details should log onto www.bream.com.au or www.portmacquarieholidays.com or give event organiser David Poulton a call on 0401 191 554 or email --e-mail address hidden-- .
