  |  First Published: September 2013

The 10th Leigh Martin Marine Mercury Classic will be held at Lake Hume on the weekend of October 26-27.

Yes, this classic event is 10 years old, so come and help celebrate this great milestone, which organisers are hoping will be the best event ever.

Last year’s competition was a great success with 404 entrants taking part, this year organisers will have most of the same fishing categories, as well as the individual and team champions.

The mystery length section will be changed to Sébile biggest yellowbelly, with the first registered biggest yellowbelly for each day of the event winning a prize pack from Sébile lures.

As in previous years, the epicentre of proceedings will be under the marquee at the Lake Hume Tourist Park. All registrations, meals and prize presentations will take place here.

There will also be a boat display by Leigh Martin Marine and, by appointment, you can book a test drive of their awesome boats on show. There will also be various sponsors’ display’s.

This year the entry fee is still $60 for adults, $25 for juniors under 15 and $20 extra for teams of four.

All entrants receive a stubby holder and info pack and all juniors and female competitors will receive a lure from Fat Cod Lures.

As usual, all entries go into a random draw for the major prize of a Quintrex/Mercury boat package.

“This year we will be selling some 10th anniversary merchandise,” said Dave McKenna.

“We have tournament shirts, embroidered polo shirts and printed T-shirts and a cap.

“So pack up the family and get along to a great weekend at the 10th Leigh Martin Marine Mercury Classic, with over $40,000 in prizes to give away.

“You will be guaranteed a weekend of fun and you may even win a boat.” –LMMMC
