Bream, perch and flathead are prime

Whilst we approach the end of another year, we can reflect on another sensational fishing season.

David and I are now in our tenth year of operating our business and each year just gets better and better.

We are continually seeing this sport becoming a fast growing family activity.

We are also seeing the results of the vibes and lures, although the bait anglers are also being handsomely rewarded.

The past month has seen varieties of fish from perch, trevally, bream, flathead, luderick, mullet, salmon and tailor being prominent.

Flathead have been near the entrance to the river on the sandy flats and have been caught on vibes, lures and frozen prawn. Bob Boast caught and released a beauty which was 86cm in length.

Most of the anglers have had no trouble bagging out within a couple of hours.

The Western Port Angling Club reported this year, that the fishing was better than the past years.

The entrance remains open at the time of writing, so salmon and tailor are fun to target especially on the incoming tide.

Perch are always a popular fish to catch and they have been present in the river.

Siberia is still fishing well, especially if casting towards the shallows and using sandworm for bait, you should be successful in landing bream and luderick.

Weather permitting the surf has been fishing well with salmon and tailor being dominant.

No doubt with the nights becoming warmer, the gummies should be about.

Please be mindful of fish sizes and bag limits.

We would also like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for the Festive Season.
