Tomakin bonanza turns 30
  |  First Published: September 2012

The 30th annual Tomakin Sports and Social Club Fishing Club Bonanza is on again for young and old this October long weekend, with more than $7000 in prizes and giveaways.

Beach, rock, estuary, blue water and game sections will cater for all fishing tastes, ages and abilities.

You'll find Tomakin on the forest-lined, clear waters at the mouth of the Tomago River, just south of Batemans Bay and only 20 minutes from Moruya.

The focus of all the festivities will be the Tomakin Sports and Social Club, which is a must when in the district.

There will be the usual categories – senior male and female, junior male and female and sub-junior male and female, secret weight, total boat catch, total individual weight and an inter-club competition.

The catch limit will be five per person of any one species and boat catches will be averaged out.

There’ll be a massive barbecue after the weigh-in so what anglers spend on competition entry ($20 for seniors, $5 for juniors) they’ll more than likely get back in top tucker and heaps of lucky giveaways.

And after the nightmare rain and gales over the holiday weekend last year, there’s one thing for sure – the weather for the 2012 event can only be better!
