Planning is well underway for another successful family fishing competition on the Condamine River, south west of Clifton, for the Clifton Carp on September 22-23, 2012.

Keen anglers will be setting up camp to catch the pest species of European carp for their chance to share in the prizes on offer.

Mullet Gut Marine, Toowoomba is the major sponsor this year and prizes will be given for four categories: Senior Male, Senior Female, Junior Male and Junior Female. Other prizes will be on offer throughout the weekend with plenty of activities for the kids and a free fishing clinic on Saturday. Free sample bags for the first 100 children (primary school and younger) will be given to those registered to fish.

Beneficiaries from this year’s event are The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and St Francis de Sales School, Clifton.

Bush Camping is available from Friday night. Entry fee – Adults (16 yrs +) $20; Children $10; 5 yrs and under-Free; Family $50 (2 adults, 3 school aged children); Camping Fee $2.50 per person per night.
