Stacer 469 TS Nomad Elite
  |  First Published: June 2012

The Stacer Nomad Elite range can really get your head spinning, there are so many options. Tiller-steer, side console, centre console, it’s so hard to choose! Luckily, the 469 Nomad Elite was already designed with fishing and comfort in mind.

The test boat was designed for anglers, with families a close second. It’s a side console with a windscreen to keep out the wind and spray. The console carries all the gauges, switch panel and sounder/GPS combo so you don’t need to leave your seat to do anything but fish.

The internals have been designed to suit an angler’s needs. The 469 Nomad Elite has a massive livewell under the front deck, which is perfect for live bait or the tournament catch. It could easily keep four bass or 10 bream going all day.

The raised casting platform gives added height required for pinpoint casting and has an additional storage area that can accommodate safety gear or other necessities.

At the bow is an anchor well with a moulded insert to keep the chain and anchor quiet when running. The well is big enough for all your ground tackle and the bow roller makes life a little easier when deploying and retrieving the anchor.

The cockpit is a big open area with optional seating positions, including one up on the forward casting platform.

The rear deck is also a raised casting area with extra storage below. The hatches allow easy access to important safety gear and another livewell, which would double perfectly as an esky. There also is enough extra storage room for multiple batteries.

The entire deck is fully carpeted, which makes it a lot more comfortable. The Nomad Elite was also fitted with a fold-down bimini that covers a large percentage of the boat – a skin-saver on those sunny days.

At the rear is an optional transom step and rail which is perfect for effortless access on board, especially when you’re towing the kids on a tube – they can just climb back in with ease.

The 469 Nomad’s wide gunwales are a great bonus, providing safety without taking up any extra room. They have well-placed rod holders and grab rails in the necessary positions. There are side pockets for all your extra gear.

The fuel-efficient Honda 60hp four-stroke sips from a huge 70L underfloor fuel tank. You could go for days with this combination, especially with the BLAST technology that boosts low speed power and torque.

The power of the rig was impressive, no doubt due to the blast technology. This boat can really fly, even carrying two solid guys with all their fishing and safety gear.

Working the engine trim switch really got some extra performance from the outboard. In the chop of the river the boat reached a top speed of 27 knots (50kmh) and ran very smoothly.

The one issue I have always had with aluminium boats is their balance. When moving from one side to another in some boats you can really feel the lean, but that was not the case with the Stacer. The EVO Advance hull design held true, thanks to its deeper vee and finer bow.

The easy-handling hull stood up well against the wind and chop.

The smooth lines of the test boat were fully painted and dressed with very classy stickers on the side. There are just so many options and colours to choose from, and you can even get a full boat wrap.

The Stacer 469 TS Nomad Elite sits safely on a custom designed Stacer trailer, complete with mag wheels, moulded guards and a frame made from lightweight aluminium C-channel. The trailer looks stylish and is finished off with LED stop and turn lights, a top-quality winch and a jockey wheel.

The package includes rego for boat and trailer, four-person inshore safety kit, installation, pre-delivery and a 450CCa marine battery.

The test boat was also adorned with plenty of extras including a Stacer accessory kit (factory-fitted nav and white lights, auto 1250GPH bilge pump, isolation switch and switch panel), side console transom step and rail and that 1100kg rated Stacer alloy braked trailer.

Sunset Motors and Marine, 240 Shellharbour Road, Warilla, can set you up in a similar 469 TS Nomad Elite with all those extras and a 3-year boat and trailer warranty and 5 years on the Honda for $27,300. Call them on 02 4297 2888 or visit www.sunsetmotorsandmarine.com.au.
