Seaforth Fishing Classic is back
  |  First Published: June 2012

The highly popular Seaforth Fishing Classic is back and this year will be held on 6-8 July.

There will be 29 prize categories and a chance to the major prize: a boat and trailer package donated by Reef Marine.

The competition was last held in 2009 and is a fun weekend for families and keen anglers. The Apex Club of Mackay is running the fishing classic with the aim of providing a prosperous event for the Mackay region and raising funds which will then be donated back to local community organisations.

The Fishing Classic will be held on the Seaforth Beach forefront, with weigh-in from 4-6pm on Saturday and 10am-1pm on Sunday.

There will be loads of entertainment including a band and a bar area on Saturday night, as well as markets and a boating expo.

Anglers are able to choose from beach, estuary and reef fishing and no boundaries are implemented, however GBRMPA zoning must be adhered to.

Entry forms can be found at Reef Marine, Nashy’s Compleat Angler, Seaforth Post Office and various other locations around town. Entry is $30 for an adult or $15 for a junior. For further information contact Apex Club of Mackay president Jamie Stewart on 0420 986 286.
