Hands-free GoPro HD

GoPro have released the new GoPro HERO HD that they claim to be the world’s highest performance wearable 1080p HD video and still photo camera.

The GoPro HERO HD has become a popular camera among extreme sports enthusiasts such as base jumpers, surfers and snowboarders. And, as you’ll probably agree as you read on, it’s also a perfect camera for fishing and boating.

Developed for professional use at a consumer price, this camera has been used in popular TV series such as Mythbusters and Getaway where they’ve been able to gather unique footage from angles that ordinary cameras can’t get to. It can record professional quality 1080p, 960p, 720p HD resolutions at 30 and 60 frames per second. It also includes a rechargeable battery back that can record up to 2.5 hours on a single charge and up to 9 hours total on a 32GB SD card.

As well as recording HD video, this nifty camera can also take 5mp still photographs at 2, 5, 10, 30 or 60 second intervals. Perfect for capturing hands-free still photographs while out in the boat fighting a fish. Simply press the shutter button once and record up to 2.5 hours of poster-print quality POV photos.

Where can you mount the GoPro HERO HD? Well, pretty much anywhere. They offer a huge range of mounts and accessories that let you capture footage and photographs easily from wherever you choose to mount it. The camera can be attached to a headlamp style head strap, with a suction cup mounted to both flat and round surfaces, and can even be worn on the chest or wrist.

Another great feature that makes this camera perfect for fishing and boating is that it’s completely waterproof to 60m. This allows you to capture interesting underwater footage of various marine life and is great for snorkelling and diving. This waterproof capability is thanks to a removable polycarbonate housing that the camera fits snugly in. This housing is extremely strong and almost bombproof, which protects it from use in rugged outdoor conditions.

These cameras come with a one-year warranty and offer replacement housings and lens kits; making repairs or refurbishing your GoPro HD HERO camera affordable and convenient.

The sort of quality that is available in a GoPro HERO HD camera should be rivalling brands costing ten times the price. You’d expect a camera like this to cost at least $800. But instead the Helmet HD model is $393, which comes with mounts and accessories. The naked HD (with less accessories) retails for $364. These amazing little HD cameras are perfect for you to record your day’s fishing action.
