Basstasstic Make Changes
  |  First Published: March 2011

The Basstasstic bass fishing tournament will not have zones anymore for trail rounds for this year’s bass fishing tournaments.

The northern and sothern zones, which were in place last year, will now become one tournament. Trail rounds will held at different dams throughout Queensland. The first of the rounds will be held at Cania Dam on March 5 and 6 and then onto Borumba Dam on April 16 and 17, and then back to Cania on May 14 and 15. Then Maroon Dam on June 4 and 5 plus three more rounds in summer. Anglers can now take advantage of different dams in a bigger area. To qualify for the Grand final for 2011, anglers will have 7 qualifying rounds to fish.

Anglers will at least have to fish 4 of the 7 qualifying rounds, as points will be taken from the best 4 rounds fished by an angler for the year. More cash will be on offer in qualifying rounds this year, based on a percentage of the entry fees from anglers at each round. Round fees have gone up and anglers will still have to become a member which is $60.00.

Anglers who fish the tournament will be donating $10.00 to the stocking group who stocks the dams which tournaments are held on.

If you want to learn how to catch bass have fun learning form great anglers who are willing to share knowledge this is the Tournament for you to fish in. All anglers are welcome there are prizes for a female angler at every round. Juniors are needed to fish in the junior section of the tournament with prizes available based on how many juniors fish at each round. The Basstasstic Championship Teams event has not been finalized yet dates will be out soon. – Basstasstic
