Gamakatsu Teams Series expands
  |  First Published: November 2008

After its enormous popularity last year, the Gamakatsu Teams Series has expanded the Summer Series events to new waters this year.

There now will be events at the Gold Coast to make a total of five competitions which allow anglers to qualify for the Gamakatsu Teams Series Grand Final.

The top 10 qualify at each event, with the top 50 anglers for the series to compete for the largest teams event cash prize in Australia.

“They will have the chance at $7500 in cash for first place, with second and third also getting good money,” GTS organiser Michael Starkey said.

“That sort of cash is on offer on top of the standard prizes each round, along with the usual prize packs as well as the random giveaway packs.

“With all these prizes on offer, why not give it a go? The Team of the Series last year had never competed in a tournament before and walked away with over $2000 worth of prizes without even winning an event.”

Entry is $140 per team with free lunch and drinks

The Gamakatsu Teams Series will hold events:

• Clarence River Iluka October 26

• Richmond River Ballina November 30

• Gold Coast (north) January 18

• Tweed River February 22

• Gold Coast (south) March 8

The Grand Final will be held on March 29 at a location to be advised.
