Delkin’s floating waterproof bag kit
  |  First Published: October 2010

This latest gem I found at Photo Continental is one smart piece of gear made for boaters and kayak aficionados.

The Delkin waterproof kit bag will keep totally dry – and float – items up to 800g, making it ideal for a mobile phone, camera, iPod, keys, wallet and a host of other things in the boat you don’t want to get wet under any circumstances.

This miraculous device works quite simply. There is a floating ball to keep the bag buoyant, which is attached to a fold top Velcro closed waterproof bag that measures 25.4 x 12.7 x 7.6cm. There is also a wrist strap, camera strap and a bottle opener attached to the ball as well.

Delkin claim the waterproof kit is water tight to around 2m and the buoyancy rating should easily accommodate the heaviest compact digital camera or phone. The kit could even be taken for a swim and thanks to the strap you could secure it confidently to your wrist so it would not get lost or ruin your valuables in the water.

The bottle opener is a novel touch too. Obviously the makers have some insight into the legendary thirst of the Australian angler.

In all, for around $29 from Photo Continental the Delkin water proof bag is a real bargain and could well save the day, literally.
